Hudsons Detroit
Pentagram

For the Hudsons project, I worked on branding and identity as part of my team at Pentagram. The redevelopment, located in the heart of Detroit's downtown on the site of the iconic Hudson's department store, is set to become a dynamic cultural hub for the city. It aims to create a space where people can connect, share ideas, and experience art, design, and innovation. I was responsible for designing the logomark and expressive wordmark, drawing inspiration from the dimensional and architectural qualities of the development.

My focus was on crafting a logomark that reflected the project's deep ties to Detroit's rich cultural heritage and its ongoing legacy in design and innovation. I worked to create a visual language that could adapt across a range of applications, ensuring it embodied the energy, diversity, and creativity that define the city.

The Hudsons project is a celebration of Detroit’s transformative spirit. It connects the city’s past with its forward-thinking future, embracing the entrepreneurial and artistic culture that has long been at the heart of its identity. By revitalising this iconic location, the project honours Detroit’s history while offering a platform for cultural exchange and community engagement.
