Barbour SS26
An Authentic & Original Tartan Story
Plus Agency
Kinship is a feeling, of unity and connections. Barbour tartans symbolise this unity, telling the story of those ties that bond us together and of family and friends meandering through life's journeys. Kinship can be seen and felt; in shared feelings and memories and woven into every Barbour tartan, transforming them into a material code that can be traced back over centuries to the Barbour family in Ayrshire, and still connects a global community today.
Shot by Dan Jackson in the wildness of Glen Artney, this chapter sees the tartans assume the role of storyteller where a sense of real kinship emerges as our friends move through the terrain, expressing friendship through shared experiences.

Alongside Plus Agency, I assisted with the overall art direction of the campaign, and was responsible for directing a series of vignettes used for promotional advertising and social posting.
For the vignettes, I was briefed to create scenarios based on Barbours tonal pillars of whit, grit, and glamour, incoporating a sense of Barbours visual language with moments of beauty, nature and humour.
